I'm not sure I see the benefit: If anybody wants to experiment, they
can just run MzScheme or (the pragmatically very similar) Scheme 48.
You're complaining about the lack of contribution to this discussion,
but by requiring a portable implementation to be made, you're raising
the bar, instead of lowering it, which would give us a chance to
contribute more. Before that happens, I suggest encouraging people
here to think through the implications of what has been discussed.
Lacking that, I'd say that's a clear sign (according to the principles
you established), that not everybody is sufficiently interested to
care---which is not inherently bad.
