[R6RS] termination

lex.tex contains the following statement:

  \vest Lexemes that require implicit termination (identifiers, numbers,
  and dot) may be terminated by any \meta{delimiter}, but not
  necessarily by anything else.  \meta{Character} and \meta{boolean}
  must be terminated by a \meta{delimiter} or by the end of the input.

Can't identifers, numbers, and dot be terminated by the end of input?
