One may want to construct vector constants in the output using pieces
of vector constants from the input. I don't know whether I've done so
or not.

Regardless, I see no reason to restrict patterns or templates so that they
cannot include vectors, given that there's no technical difficulty, little
implemention overhead, and at least marginal utility.
